Good questions.
Better game plan.
Slate, stairs, felt, ferries. Pool tables come with a few moving parts (literally). Here are the answers to the questions we hear most.
Moving basics
The essentials before moving day
Can you move a pool table without taking it apart?
Most slate pool tables should be carefully disassembled before transportation. Our team assesses the table and access conditions to determine the safest handling method. Moving a fully assembled slate table can damage the frame, slate or levelling.
Do you disassemble and reassemble the pool table?
Yes. Pool table moving typically includes the necessary disassembly, protected transportation, reassembly and levelling at the destination, based on the agreed scope of your quote.
How long does a pool table move take?
It depends on the table, slate configuration, access at both properties and travel distance. A straightforward local move is different from a move involving stairs, narrow access or a ferry. We can provide a more specific time window once we know the details.
Can you move a pool table to another room in the same house?
Yes. We handle internal moves within the same property. Tell us whether the table is moving to another room, floor or building so we can account for the route and any stairs.
Can you move a pool table up or down stairs?
Often, yes. The number of steps, width of the staircase, landings, turns and table construction all matter. Photos of the stairs and access help us assess the move accurately.
Pricing & estimates
What goes into your quote
How much does it cost to move a pool table?
Our calculator starts at $799 for a 7-, 8- or 9-foot table and $999 for a 12-foot table, before applicable access charges, optional services and tax. These are calculator starting rates, not a guaranteed final quote for every route. Interregional moves and special travel requirements need a custom estimate.
What affects the final moving price?
Table size, slate type, stairs, grass or gravel, steep driveways, travel distance, ferry requirements and any optional services can affect the price. The calculator helps with straightforward moves within one region.
Do you charge extra for stairs or difficult access?
Our current calculator adds $3 per step, $3 per foot of grass or gravel, and $100 for a steep driveway. Other unusual access conditions may require a custom assessment.
Can I get an estimate online?
Yes. Use our interactive pool table moving calculator for eligible moves within the same region. If your move crosses regions or involves unusual conditions, send us the details for a personalized quote.
Are your prices before or after tax?
Calculator totals are shown before applicable tax. Your official estimate will confirm the scope, pricing and taxes.
Slate, setup & levelling
The details that make a difference
What is the difference between one-piece and three-piece slate?
One-piece slate is a single large, heavy slab. Three-piece slate separates into three sections, which can make transportation and access more manageable. Both require careful handling and correct setup.
What if I do not know how many slate pieces my table has?
That is common. Select “Not sure” when requesting a quote, or send us the table make and model along with photos. We can help identify what information is needed.
Will you level the pool table after the move?
Levelling is part of proper reassembly for moves that include setup at the destination. Final results depend on the table condition and the floor beneath it.
Can you move a 12-foot snooker table?
We can review moves involving 12-foot tables. Because these tables are substantially larger and heavier, please provide the model, access photos and both locations so we can confirm the required equipment and scope.
Do you protect the table during transportation?
We use appropriate handling and protective materials for the table components during transport. The exact protection method depends on the table and agreed moving scope.
Refelting & storage
A little extra care for your table
Can you refelt my pool table during the move?
Yes, refelting can be requested alongside a move. Combining the services is convenient because the table is already being taken apart and reassembled.
How much does pool table refelting cost?
Our current calculator lists refelting at $499 for 7-, 8- and 9-foot tables, and $1,500 for 12-foot tables. Final pricing and fabric options should be confirmed in your quote.
Can I choose the colour of the felt?
Let us know the colour you have in mind when requesting your estimate. We can discuss available options before scheduling the work.
Do you offer pool table storage?
Storage can be discussed as part of a moving plan. Tell us how long you need storage and whether you will need delivery and reassembly afterward so we can confirm availability and pricing.
Service areas & booking
Where we go and what happens next
What areas of British Columbia do you serve?
We handle enquiries across the Lower Mainland, Sea to Sky corridor, Vancouver Island and the Okanagan. Availability and travel pricing depend on the specific route.
Can you move my pool table between Vancouver and Vancouver Island?
Yes, you can request a quote for an interregional move, including routes involving ferries. We review transportation and ferry requirements before confirming a price.
Can you move a pool table between different regions?
Please request a custom quote for moves between regions, such as the Lower Mainland to the Okanagan or Vancouver Island to Sea to Sky. The online calculator does not automatically price those routes.
What information do you need to give me a quote?
We will ask for table size, slate configuration if known, pickup and delivery locations, stairs, driveway or outdoor access, and any refelting or storage requests. Photos are especially helpful for narrow staircases and tight corners.
How do I book my pool table move?
Start with the online calculator or submit a quote request. Once we have reviewed your move details and confirmed availability, we can provide the next steps for booking.
Every table has a story.
If yours has a few plot twists, like a tight staircase, unusual slate or a ferry crossing, send us the details. We’ll help work out the right plan.
